The Department of Human Services was 为med in 1999 by merging the degree programs in Criminal Justice, Gerontology 和 Social Work. The combined department brings together faculty 和 students who have a mutual desire to study 和 investigate social issues facing our ever complex communities, 和 to provide training to students who will be prepared to assist individuals 和 groups in need. The faculty work together to provide a strong program of study to all those interested in pursuing study in the human services arena.

The Department of Human Services offers three undergraduate degrees 和 two graduate degrees. These are listed below.

Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice Program provides students with excellent academic training 和 experience through our classes 和 internship program. The program is designed to prepare students to take 和 active role in criminal justice 和 to also prepare students 为 continued training.

Forensic Investigation SpecializationUndergraduateGraduate Study

This course of study is appropriate 为 students interested in pursuing investigative careers in the public, 私人, intelligence, 和 military sectors. 学生 will acquire specific skill sets that prepare them 为 crime scene investigation.  

Social Work

The mission of the Social Work Program at Bowling Green State University is to prepare students 为 professional social work practice with diverse 和 at-risk populations, emphasizing client system strengths, social justice, respect 和 appreciation of human diversity, 和 the worth 和 dignity of all people through teaching, 博天堂官方网站, 和 public service.

Gerontology

学生 who graduate from the undergraduate program in Gerontology will have a strong interdisciplinary background in aging studies. In addition, to a liberal arts base, students complete course work in a cognate area. Cognates provide specialization in biology, 健康, human resource management, 营养, psychology, recreation, 和 service planning.
