The main purpose of the Historical 集合 of the Great Lakes (HCGL) is to collect, 保存, and make available historical materials documenting 美国. S. Great Lakes region and connecting waterways. The collection focuses on 1812 to the present with the bulk of the collection documenting the years from 1860 to the present. The HCGL seeks materials related to commercial shipping, 造船, 导航, 海事法, 商业捕鱼, 沉船, 游艇, 劳动的历史, 通俗文学, 淡水生态学, 海洋文化, and history of the Great Lakes ports. The 国家学生事务档案馆 (NSAA) is dedicated to records of student affairs and higher education professional organizations.  The CAC established the NSAA in 1982 and since that time the NSAA has developed into a major repository for the historical records of national, 区域, and state (Ohio/Michigan) student affairs and higher education professional organizations.  Additional materials include the private collections of individuals who have been active in the field, 以及相关的书籍和小册子.  While NSAA acquisition decisions are not based on a specific time period, current materials in this division date from 1903 to the present day. This collection looks to acquire for permanent preservation books, 报纸, and non-published documentary materials relating to the 19 county region of northwest Ohio.   We are interested particularly in obtaining 报纸, 信, 日记, 组织或业务记录, 照片, 地图, 珍本书籍. The 珍本和特别藏书 collects, 保存, and makes accessible to 博天堂官方网站ers primary, 罕见的, or unique materials that support the 博天堂官方网站 and curriculum needs BGSU社区和学者们.  Current collection focuses include American poetry from the mid-20th century to the present day, 出版物 produced by the Beat Generation, notable graduates of the BGSU Creative Writing Program, poetry by Northwestern Ohio authors, and Midwestern authors from the late 19th century through present day. Contemporary artists’ books are acquired to exp和 current artists’ books collection. Primary and secondary resources supporting the history of print 和 materiality and construction of the book in the Western world provide crucial support for inquiry into the collection; emphasis on acquisition of these materials is placed on exceptional pieces 包括 notable examples of book binding, 书的生产, or book decoration from the 19th century to present day.  最后，为了培育William F. 诺兰/雷·布拉德伯里合集, literary manuscripts related to Ray Bradbury and first or notable editions of his works are collected.
