The computer science major includes a strong set of core 课程 designed to provide students with a broad base of computing concepts and skills as well as a large selection of specialized elective 课程. Computer science majors must meet one of the following admission criteria: an SAT math score of 550 or higher or an ACT math score of 22 or higher. 学生 not meeting these criteria will need to take appropriate math course(s) at the University before declaring their major to Computer 科学. Many high schools do not offer 课程 in computer programming or computer science, and incoming students are not expected to have such a background.
